One of the simplest procedures you can find in the dentistry world is the process of a dental bonding being placed. This can fix a small flaw in your smile whether it’s discoloration, a chip, an alternative to fillings, or even a stain. Dr. Shelly Galvin and our dental staff here in Kansas City, Kansas, want to help you get the dental care you need with a dental bonding.

This simple and inexpensive method begins with the easy step of speaking with your dentist to determine if this method is right for you and your smile. The color of your teeth will be compared to a color swatch to find the best shade and make a composite resin similar to the color. While the resin is being mixed, your dentist will roughen the surface of the tooth to create a coarse surface for the material to be connected.

To prepare for the resin to be placed, conditioning liquid is first applied to the tooth. The bonding material is then placed, contoured, and solidified with a special ultraviolet light. This lasts about a minute, and afterwards, your dentist trims away excess material and gives the tooth a final polish. Our staff will be sure to schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure its quality and comfortability.
